Co-chairing EICS 2026 Doctoral Consortium and EICS 2027 Conference

I’m excited to announce my involvement in two upcoming EICS conferences: I’m co-chairing the EICS 2026 Doctoral Consortium together with Fabio Paternò from CNR-ISTI, Italy, and Nikos Avouris, and I will be a general co-chair together with Célia Martinie for EICS 2027.

EICS 2026 Doctoral Consortium

I’m delighted to co-chair the EICS 2026 Doctoral Consortium alongside two colleagues: Fabio Paternò from CNR-ISTI, Italy, and Nikos Avouris from the University of Patras, Greece.

The Doctoral Consortium provides a unique opportunity for PhD students in Human-Computer Interaction Engineering to:

  • Receive constructive feedback on their research from experts
  • Network with leading researchers in the field
  • Present their work and engage with peers
  • Get career guidance and mentorship

Key dates for EICS 2026 DC:

  • Submission Deadline: May 4, 2026
  • Notifications: May 15, 2026
  • Camera Ready: May 22, 2026

We encourage PhD students working in HCI engineering to submit their work. Contact: dc2026@eics.acm.org for questions.

EICS 2027 in Toulouse

I’m thrilled to announce that I will co-chair EICS 2027 with Célia Martinie, which will take place in the beautiful city of Toulouse, France. Marco Winckler will act as the Technical Program Chair. Toulouse is a wonderful city with rich history and culture, but also a vibrant center for aerospace and technology research - making it an ideal location for our community to gather and exchange ideas.

Continuing the EICS Legacy

I’m very proud to continue my involvement in the EICS conference series, which has been a truly fostering environment for both new and seasoned researchers working on engineering interactive systems. The conference has consistently provided a platform where cutting-edge research meets practical applications, where new researchers can connect with established experts in the field, and where we can meet old and new friends sharing the same research interests.

The EICS community has always been special and important to me - it represents the perfect intersection of rigorous engineering principles and human-centered design thinking.
